156 Cecilia Keaveney asked the Minister for Communications, Marine and Natural Resources the position on the lost vessel of a person (details supplied) in County Donegal; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [29411/03]
The individual concerned applied for replacement capacity under a scheme for vessels lost at sea introduced by the Department in 2001. His application in respect of his lost vessel was assessed against strict eligibility criteria of the scheme and was deemed not to qualify as he had acquired a replacement vessel, which was not permitted under the terms of the scheme. The Department wrote to him on 29 October 2002 informing him that his application was unsuccessful and advising him of the basis for the decision.
