The Department's press office is committed to ensuring all press statements are posted to the Department's website on the same day as they are issued to the media.
On 26 November 2003 when the press statement in question was issued, it became impossible to post to the Internet that evening due to volume of work and some technical difficulties. The statement was available on the website the next morning when those issues were resolved.
The Deputy can be assured that such occasions are rare and the Department will try to ensure that such difficulties do not recur. I am satisfied that the website gives adequate access to press information to all interested parties.
