64 Mr. J. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the position on dairy herd certification; the reason for the delay to date; if his attention has been drawn to the adverse consequences arising from a delay; and if arrangements have been completed in connection therewith. [29102/03]
One round of dairy herd certification has been completed. My Department has been involved in discussions with the farming and veterinary organisations with a view to agreeing the conditions under which a further round can get under way. In view of the importance of the matter for the industry I hope that agreement can be reached at an early date.
