Written Answers. - State Property.

Emmet Stagg

Question:

74 Mr. Stagg asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the number of Teagasc properties that have been closed or sold since the last general election; the funds accrued to the Exchequer from their closure and sale; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [29213/03]

In the period referred to the following six rented offices, two of which were part-time, have been closed: Buncrana, County Donegal, Cahir, County Tipperary, Castleisland and Kenmare, County Kerry and part-time offices in Killorgan and Rathmore in County Kerry. The following four properties were sold in the same period: the head office building at Sandymount Avenue, Dublin 4, the advisory office at Corduff, County Dublin and the research centres at Clonroche, County Wexford and Lullymore, County Kildare. The proceeds of the sales amounted to €17.897 million and will be used by Teagasc to cover costs associated with its rationalisation programme.
