389 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the status of an application to remain here on humanitarian grounds for a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny; if this person's marriage to an Irish citizen on 17 May 2003 will be considered; and if this application can be expedited. [29825/03]

An application for permission to remain in the State based on marriage to an Irish national was received from the person concerned in July 2003. Applications of this type are dealt with in chronological order and take approximately ten months to process.
