Vol. 576 No. 5

Written Answers. - EU Trade Negotiations.

Eamon Ryan

Question:

82 Mr. Eamon Ryan asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment the information she intends to publicly provide regarding the agenda 133 EU trade negotiations meetings that her Department will organise during the EU Presidency; and if reports that will be presented to the meetings will be publicly available. [29642/03]

It is intended that my Department will publish the agenda for the weekly Article 133 committee meetings once these have been agreed between the Irish Presidency and the European Commission. It is proposed that these agendas will be published on the website dedicated to the Irish Presidency. Documents and reports presented to the Article 133 committee meetings are internal EU consultation documents and, as such, are restricted to the members of the committee. They are not public documents and, as a result, the Presidency does not have the authority to publish them. Once documents are agreed by the member states and the European Commission, they are generally published on the European Commission website for directorate general trade where they can be accessed by the general public.
