Candidates at a Dáil election are required under section 36 of the Electoral Act 1997 to furnish a statement in relation to their election expenses to the Standards in Public Offices Commission within 56 days of polling day. There is no requirement under the Electoral Act to furnish a copy to the Revenue Commissioners. The statements furnished by candidates are available for public inspection as set out in section 73 of the Act and are laid before the Oireachtas section 37.
The personal taxation position of a Deputy is a matter between the Deputy and the Revenue Commissioners.

Question:133 Mr. N. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Finance the progress which has been made by the Office of the Revenue Commissioners regarding the alleged failure by a company to issue a P45 to a person (details supplied) in County Cork. [30223/03]
The Revenue Commissioners have confirmed to me that the alleged failure referred to by the Deputy is being investigated by their Cork office. The Deputy will appreciate that any action to be taken in respect of alleged non-compliance with tax legislation is a matter for Revenue. He will also appreciate that due to confidentiality constraints, I am unable to provide any specific details of the action taken so far in this matter.
