I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Gogarty – the need to reverse community employment scheme and J1 cutbacks nationwide, but particularly in south-west Clondalkin and north Clondalkin; (2) Deputy Sargent – that the Government will ensure that Irish will be an official language in the European Union; (3) Deputy Connolly – the imminent disproportionate loss of a teacher by Knocknagrave national school, a two-teacher school in County Monaghan; (4) Deputy Crowe – the decision by the parents of students in Gortahork national school, County Donegal, to withdraw their children in protest at the atrocious conditions; (5) Deputy Morgan – the necessity for the Minister to address the situation which has arisen with regard to the provision of diabetes services in the NEHB area and the necessity to ensure a full service is put in place for diabetics, particularly type 1 diabetics. As a result of staffing issues, including the temporary absence of a diabetic nurse and the departure of a paediatrician, the provision of specialists services, particularly for children with diabetes, have been affected causing difficulties and worry for the patients concerned and their families; (6) Deputy McGinley – the crisis in Gortahork national school and the decision of the parents to withdraw the pupils today; (7) Deputy Durkan – to ask the Minster for Justice to investigate the circumstances surrounding the arrest on several occasions of a person in County Kildare, the mother of two small children and party in a family law dispute. If he is aware of the repeated hospitalisation of one of the children and the potential danger of liability in the event of the involvement of State agents or agencies; and (8) Deputy Gay Mitchell – to ask the Minister for Health and Children if assistance can be provided to persons (details supplied) in Dublin 12.
