63 Mr. Gogarty asked the Minister for Finance if he has made representations to the Revenue Commissioners regarding the wisdom of imposing the full weight of the VAT Act 1972 on the fees earned by all overseas cultural organisations, no matter what the status of each. [27378/03]

Minister for Finance (Mr. McCreevy):

The Deputy will appreciate that the care and management of the tax system is the direct responsibility of the Revenue Commissioners. It would therefore be inappropriate for me to interfere in how the Revenue Commissioners administer existing law in individual tax cases.
