Vol. 599 No. 7

Requests to move Adjournment of Dáil under Standing Order 31.

Before coming to the Order of Business I propose to deal with a number of notices under Standing Order 31.

I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 31 to debate the following urgent matter: the action of the Kerry Group in terminating the contracts of 12 small milk hauliers, which will have a severe impact on their livelihoods, on which the immediate intervention of the Minister for Agriculture and Food is vital to ensure proper traceability from the producer through the food chain.

I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 31 to debate the following urgent matter: the dissolution next week of the Dunne inquiry into the retention of organs of children taken without the consent of parents.

I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 31 to debate the following urgent matter: the winding up the Dunne inquiry, which cost the taxpayer more than €20 million, without completing its work; the need for the Tánaiste and Minister for Health and Children to explain why the Department continued with this inquiry, despite the constant objections of the parents who pointed out that the inquiry could not be properly conducted under its terms of reference; and the need to accede to the reasonable request of the Parents for Justice group.

Having considered the matters raised, they are not in order under Standing Order 31.
