Vol. 631 No. 2

Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Gogarty — the need for the Government to purchase the lands at St. Edmundsbury-Woodville or to extend the special amenity area order as far as the Lucan Road so that these lands can be preserved intact for future generations, preferably as part of a Liffey Valley national or regional park; (2) Deputy Hoctor — the need for the provision of a school bus at Boher national school; (3) Deputies Catherine Murphy and Harkin — the implications of the derogation sought to the EU Energy Performance Buildings Directive; (4) Deputy Boyle — the need for the Minister to make a statement regarding the announcement by the Pfizer company and its implications for the economy of the Cork region; (5) Deputy Burton — the need for the Minister to provide extra language resource teachers in schools to cater for those with limited or no understanding of the English language; (6) Deputy Costello — the need for the Minister to establish local criminal assets bureaux to tackle the national drugs epidemic; and (7) Deputy Upton — the need for the Minister to ensure that patients who are constrained by illness from proper decision-making will only be transferred to locations outside County Dublin with the consent of their families.

The matters raised by Deputies Upton, Boyle, Hoctor, and Catherine Murphy and Harkin have been selected for discussion.
