Vol. 655 No. 4

Requests to move Adjournment of Dáil under Standing Order 32.

Anois, iarratais chun tairisceana a dhéanamh an Dáil a chur ar athló faoi Bhuan-Ordú 32. We will now deal with Requests to move Adjournment of Dáil under Standing Order 32.

I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 32 to raise a matter of national importance, namely, the threat to the rights of citizenship posed by the discrimination against more than 12% of the adult population in the last two years, with one fifth of the disabled, 23% of lone parents, one quarter of non-nationals and 29% of the unemployed experiencing some form of prejudice, according to an ESRI and Equality Authority survey, which shows that men and women were equally likely to record discrimination.

I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 32 to raise a matter of national importance, namely, the need by the HSE to appoint more occupational therapists in order that people in my constituency of Cork East are not waiting for periods of up to six months and beyond to receive an occupational therapist report for the purposes of applying for a housing aid for older people grant where essential and quality of life enhancing modifications are made to their homes without which they would be unable to function comfortably.

Tar éis breithnithe a dhéanamh ar na nithe ardaithe, níl siad in ord faoi Bhuan-Ordú 32. Having considered the matters raised, they are not in order under Standing Order 32.
