Business of Dáil: Motion

I move:

That, notwithstanding anything in Standing Orders, unless the Dáil shall otherwise order:

(1) the following arrangements shall apply in relation to the sittings of the Dáil on Wednesday 9th and Thursday 10th June, 2010:

(i) oral questions shall not be taken;

(ii) there shall be no Order of Business within the meaning of Standing Order 26;

(iii) matters may not be raised under the provisions of Standing Order 21(3) and 32;

(iv) Private Members' Business shall not be taken;

(v) the taking of any divisions shall be postponed until immediately after the Order of Business on Tuesday, 15th June, 2010.

(2) The business to be transacted shall be as follows:

(i) Wednesday, 9th June, 2010—

The Dáil shall sit at 2.30 p.m. and shall adjourn not later than 7 p.m.;

Statements re Implementation of the Ryan Report shall be taken and the proceedings shall be brought to a conclusion after 2 hours and the following arrangements shall apply:

(i) the statements of a Minister or Minister of State and of the main spokespersons for Fine Gael, the Labour Party and Sinn Féin, who shall be called upon in that order, shall not exceed 15 minutes in each case;

(ii) the statements of each other member called upon shall not exceed 10 minutes in each case;

(iii) members may share time; and

(iv) a Minister or Minister of State shall be called upon to make a statement in reply which shall not exceed 10 minutes;

Thursday, 10th June, 2010—

The Dáil shall sit at 10.30 a.m. and shall adjourn not later than 3.30 p.m.;

Criminal Justice (Public Order) Bill 2010 — Second Stage (resumed); and

Multi-Unit Developments Bill 2009 [Seanad] — Second Stage.”
