Gnó na Dála - Business of Dáil

I understand the Government Chief Whip has a business proposal to put to the House.

Gabhaim buíochas leis an gCeann Comhairle.

It is proposed, notwithstanding anything in Standing Orders or the Orders of the Dáil of yesterday, that a motion re approval of nomination by An Taoiseach of a member of the Government shall take place immediately following Leaders' Questions today, the proceedings on the motion shall conclude within 40 minutes, speeches shall be confined to a single round of five minutes each by An Taoiseach and the leader of each Opposition party or group or a Member nominated in his or her stead, and all Members may share time; that Questions on Promised Legislation shall take place immediately on the conclusion of proceedings on the motion; and that Private Members’ business shall be taken for two hours at 9 p.m. or on the conclusion of the debate on Second Stage of the National Oil Reserves Agency (Amendment) and Provisions of Central Treasury Services Bill 2020, whichever is the earlier.

I thank the Chief Whip. Is the proposal acceptable to the House? It is agreed.

We will suspend for another seven minutes pending questions to the Minister for Communications, Climate Action and Environment.

Sitting suspended at 10.23 a.m. and resumed at 10.30 a.m.
