JOINT COMMITTEE ON EUROPEAN AFFAIRS debate -
Thursday, 15 Nov 2007

Business of the Joint Committee.

I welcome the Minister of State with responsibility for European affairs and his entourage, the Minister of State with responsibility for overseas development and his entourage and the members of the committee. I will deal at a later stage with some of our proposals as to how we propose to deal with the issues as they arise. Reports are being circulated. Since we last met I have had discussions with the director of EU affairs from the Czech Republic and the deputy ambassador, the Iranian ambassador and a number of other people. I propose to circulate reports of all such meetings to the full committee for correspondence purposes in the future, as and from now, to ensure the committee is aware of whatever happens.

Apologies have been received from Deputy Barry Andrews, Senator Maurice Cummins and Deputy Billy Timmins.
