JOINT COMMITTEE ON EUROPEAN AFFAIRS debate -
Wednesday, 23 Jul 2008

Business of Joint Committee.

Apologies have been received from Senator John Hanafin.

I draw witnesses' attention to the fact that members of the committee have absolute privilege but this does not apply to witnesses appearing before the committee. Members are reminded of the parliamentary practice that they should not comment on, criticise or make charges against a person outside the House or an official either by name or in such a way as to make him or her identifiable and which would reflect poorly on the person's character.
