Business of Joint Committee.

We now come to correspondence from the Sub-committee on European Scrutiny. The sub-committee has examined a number of proposals falling within the remit of the Department of Foreign Affairs. Com (454) 2000 is a proposal for a Council decision concluding the consultation procedure with Haiti under Article 96 of the ACP-EC partnership agreement. COM 554 is the proposal for a Council decision regarding additional protocol to the agreement on trade, development and co-operation between the EU and South Africa to take account of the accession of new member states. COM 556 is a proposal for a Council decision regarding the association agreement between the EU and Chile to take account of the accession of new member states. COM 578 is the proposal for a Council decision regarding the EU-Mediterranean agreement between the EU and Jordan to take account of the accession of new member states. COM 576 is for a Council decision concluding consultations with Togo under Article 96 of the Cotonou agreement.

The sub-committee has recommended that no further scrutiny of these proposals is necessary. Is that agreed? Agreed.

The joint committee went into private session and adjourned at 12.25 p.m. sine die.
