JOINT COMMITTEE ON FOREIGN AFFAIRS debate -
Tuesday, 9 Nov 2004

Business of Joint Committee.

Apologies have been received from Deputies Davern and Quinn and Senator Bradford. The minutes of the meeting held on 28 October were circulated with the agenda for the meeting. Are the minutes in order? Agreed. Are there any matters arising? We will take up the main matter arising now.

The next item on the agenda is the budget targets for official development assistance, meeting with Co-operation Ireland, Dóchas and development non-governmental organisations regarding their capacity to handle substantial increases in funding.

The Leader of the Seanad and I will have to leave shortly for the Order of Business in the Seanad. How long does the Chairman imagine this meeting will last because I might be able to come back?

It could be quite a while.
