I asked the clerk to let the Minister for Health and Children know — Deputy Devins may wish to do likewise — I never said I was a member of the Medical Defence Union. Members will recall there was a bit of a fracas at the end of the meeting.

I propose we go into private session to discuss correspondence and related matters before hearing briefings from officials of the Departments of Health and Children and Enterprise, Trade and Employment, and a presentation by the National Disability Authority.
The joint committee went into private session at 9.35 a.m. and resumed in public session at 9.59 a.m.
