Scrutiny of EU Legislative Proposals

No. 1 is the Green Paper, COM(2011)164, on the EU corporate governance framework. This proposal warrants further scrutiny. It is also proposed to write to the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation seeking its views on the European Economic and Social Committee opinion of 22 October, the Commission's feedback statement of 15 November and to ask what implications are envisaged for Ireland. Is that agreed? Agreed. No. 2 is the Green Paper COM(2011)367, modernising the professional qualifications directive. The proposals arising from this Green Paper should be scrutinised. It is proposed the committee writes to the Department of Education and Skills asking to be kept informed in a timely manner of the new directive and of any other developments as they arise. Is that agreed? Agreed. No. 3 is COM(2011)609, a proposal for a regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council on a European Union programme for social change and innovation. It is proposed this proposal does not warrant further scrutiny. Is that agreed? Agreed. No. 4 is COM(2011)554, a proposal for a Council regulation imposing a definitive anti-dumping duty on imports of hand pallet trucks. It is proposed this proposal does not warrant further scrutiny. Is that agreed? Agreed. No. 5 is the Green Paper COM(2011)48, From Challenges to Opportunities: Towards a Common Strategic Framework for EU Research and Innovation Funding. It is proposed this Green Paper does not warrant further scrutiny. Is that agreed? Agreed.

The committee has received five early warning notes comprising L209-24, C270-05, C291-04, L254-7-Korea and L275-1. It is proposed these early warning notes do not warrant further scrutiny. Is that agreed? Agreed.
