Messages to Dáil and Seanad

In accordance with Standing Order 87, the following message will be sent to the Dáil:

The Joint Committee on Justice, Defence and Equality has completed its consideration of the following motion:

That Dáil Éireann approves the exercise by the State of the option or discretion under Protocol No. 21 on the position of the United Kingdom and Ireland in respect of the area of freedom, security and justice annexed to the Treaty on European Union and to the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union, to take part in the adoption and application of the following measure:

A proposal for the regulation of the European Parliament and the Council creating a European Account Preservation Order to facilitate cross border debt recovery in civil and commercial matters.

a copy of which was laid before Dáil Éireann on 15 August 2011.

In accordance with Standing Order 72 the following message will be sent to the Seanad:

The Joint Committee on Justice, Defence and Equality has completed its consideration of the following motion:

That Seanad Éireannapproves the exercise by the State of the option or discretion under Protocol No. 21 on the position of the United Kingdom and Ireland in respect of the area of freedom, security and justice annexed to the Treaty on European Union and to the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union, to take part in the adoption and application of the following measure:

The joint committee adjourned at 10.15 a.m. until 2.30 p.m. on Wednesday, 26 October 2011.
