SECTION 25.

Question proposed: "That section 25 stand part of the Bill."

This section re-enacts existing law subject to amendments recommended by the committee. It provides for bringing before the court for examination any person imprisoned under section 24 and for his release if he complies with the court's requirements. The committee considered that no major changes were necessary in this regard apart from (1) clarifying the existing provisions regarding the returning to prison of a person who is there for not complying with orders or directions of the court and for his release if he complies with them and (2) covering cases of persons in prison for reasons other than unsatisfactory answering.
