JOINT COMMITTEE ON THE ENVIRONMENT, HERITAGE AND LOCAL GOVERNMENT debate -
Wednesday, 18 Jun 2008

Business of Joint Committee.

Apologies have been received from Deputy Christy O'Sullivan. The main item of business is to discuss the report on the future of the electoral register in Ireland and related matters. The Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government is before the committee. Owing to the change in the Dáil schedule we will begin with this item straight away because the Minister, Deputy Gormley, as a party leader is due to speak early in the Dáil debate. Before that I will outline one item of housekeeping. We need to clear the schedule for next week's business. I give notice that we expect the Dáil will refer planning regulations to the committee tomorrow. We propose to deal with those regulations next week. We can then discuss the agenda for the following period.
