I should mention that since the Orders or the Day were distributed, a certified Money Bill has been sent forward from the Dáil to the Seanad. It is a Bill providing for the payment of members of both Houses. An amendment has been put down to it by Senator MacLysaght and, therefore, the Seanad may not go further with it to-day than the Second Stage. If it is the wish of the members, it can then be put on the Order paper for Wednesday next, when the Committee Stage will be taken. It is not a Bill, I think, that will provoke much discussion, but if the Seanad wishes I will put the Second Stage now, reserving the Committee Stage for next week.
Motion made and question put: "That The Oireachtas (Payment of Members) Bill, 1923, be read a Second Time."
Agreed.
