Vol. 1 No. 24

UNEMPLOYMENT INSURANCE BILL, 1923. - SEANAD RESUMES.

At the opening of the meeting of the Seanad, before you arrived, A Chathaoirligh, I asked permission to raise the question as to how this Bill came to be certified as a Money Bill.

AN CATHAOIRLEACH

I understand, Senator Linehan that you did intimate your desire to call attention to this matter. You can do that either as a matter of urgency with the aid of ten members of the Seanad rising in their places, or you could direct attention to it on the motion for the adjournment. If the latter course would suit you it would be more convenient for the Seanad, because the President is anxious to be here while we are discussing the next Bill, and there is an amendment with which he wishes personally to deal.

In that case I will ask permission to refer to it on the motion for the adjournment.
