Vol. 6 No. 2

SHOP HOURS (BARBERS AND HAIRDRESSERS, DUBLIN AND DISTRICTS) BILL, 1925—FIRST STAGE.

I beg to move the introduction of the Shop Hours (Barbers and Hairdressers, Dublin and Districts) Bill, 1925. This is a Bill to give effect in law to an agreement that has been arrived at between the employers and the working people engaged in the small industry known as hairdressers' or barbers' shops. It is not necessary in introducing a Bill to make a speech. It is a Bill simply to give effect to an agreement arrived at and so put an end to the practice that was not very nice of keeping those shops open on Sundays, and late on Saturdays. I formally beg to move that the Bill be read a first time.

Agreed.
