Vol. 7 No. 5

BUSINESS OF THE SEANAD.

CATHAOIRLEACH

We have a fair amount of business next week, excluding the Committee Stage of the Railways Bill and the Court Officers Bill. I think we will have sufficient business without these Bills for Wednesday next and I think the best arrangement would be to devote Thursday to the Committee Stages of these two important Bills. We will dispose of the remaining outstanding Bills on Wednesday.

Could we not take the Court Officers Bill on Wednesday instead of the Railways Bill?

CATHAOIRLEACH

We will require a full day to get rid of both. I want to leave a sufficient day's work for each of the two days. Senator O'Farrell is keenly interested in both of these Bills, and as he informs me that he will be engaged on official business on Wednesday, he asked me specially, unless there was some great objection, to have the Committee Stages reserved for Thursday. I am endeavouring to accommodate him without inconveniencing anybody else.

I wanted to be absent on Thursday also, but I am interested in the Court Officers Bill.

The Seanad adjourned at 7.10 p.m. until Wednesday, 9th June.
