Vol. 8 No. 29

SENATOR'S EXPLANATION.

Before proceeding with the Agenda I would ask you, sir, to give me a few moments to clear up a matter in connection with Senator Counihan's motion yesterday relative to the cattle trade. Speaking to the motion yesterday evening, I stated that, in my opinion, the cattle trade is in bad hands. Some of my friends have taken exception to that statement and I now want to say that, in stating that, I merely expressed my opinion in the broader and fuller sense of the cattle trade as a national industry and that I meant no insult or degradation to some of these people, who are personal friends of mine. I hope that my statement now will make that matter clear.

I wish to accept, on behalf of the cattle trade, the statement which Senator Foran has just made.
