Vol. 13 No. 12

Senators and Legislative Work.

Cathaoirleach

Several Senators have expressed a desire that we should get more legislation in the winter session and less in the summer session. The tendency has been to give us a great number of Bills in June and July and fewer Bills in October, November and January. Senators desire to curtail legislation as much as possible during the summer and to concentrate more on it in November, December and January.

Senators can imagine that Ministers feel it is an undesirable state of affairs that they should have to appear before the Seanad late in the summer, or on Christmas Eve.
