Seanad Éireann debate -

Vol. 14 No. 25

Order of Business.

As it is now after 7 o'clock I suggest that we should adjourn until to-morrow.

I suggest to the House that we might take Item No. 10 on the Order Paper before we adjourn. It is a motion in the name of Senator Milroy, proposing to give approval to the General Act for the Pacific Settlement of International Disputes.

Cathaoirleach

As the House will be sitting to-morrow, would it not be better to leave over that motion?

I cannot be present to-morrow.

This motion deals with an important question, and I think it would be a pity that it should be passed perfunctorily at the tail end of a long sitting unless there is a deliberate intention to burke discussion on it.

Cathaoirleach

I think we had better adjourn the consideration of that motion until to-morrow.

I am anxious that the Veterinary Surgeons Bill should be taken to-night, as I intend to propose that the Bill be re-committed. There is an amendment to the Bill in the name of Senator O'Rourke which I am moving on his behalf. If the Bill is taken to-night it will give more time for the consideration of amendments.

Cathaoirleach

The House can decide to-morrow what it will do in regard to that Bill.

The Seanad adjourned at 7.10 p.m. until Friday, 3rd July, 1931, at 11.30 a.m.
