Vol. 15 No. 7

Order of Business.

Cathaoirleach

With regard to items 1, 2 and 3 on to-day's Order Paper, the Standing Orders provide that the Committee of Selection and the Committee on Procedure and Privileges shall be appointed at the commencement of each triennial period; and, further, that all Committees shall be deemed to be discharged at the end of each such period. It was not possible to deal with these matters until to-day, owing to the delay in the election of the Leas-Chathaoirleach. Consultations are taking place at the moment between representatives of various groups regarding the personnel of the Committee of Selection: and I suggest to the House that the items I have mentioned be accordingly postponed until a later stage of to-day's sitting.

Agreed.
