The following Message has been received from the Dáil:—
"Dáil Eireann has disagreed to the Amendments made by Seanad Eireann to the Constitution (Removal of Oath) Bill, 1932."
Four amendments were inserted in the Bill by the Seanad, as follows:—
1. Title. The words "and also the Constitution of the Irish Free State (Saorstát Eireann) Act, 1922" deleted.
2. Section 2. The section deleted.
3. Section 3. The section deleted.
4. New section. Before section 4 a new section inserted as follows:—
"4. This Act shall not come into force until an Agreement has been entered into between the Government of the Irish Free State and the British Government providing that Article 4 of the Treaty of 1921 shall cease to have effect and such Agreement has been ratified and approved by resolution of Dáil Eireann."
The House will now consider these amendments in their order, except that amendment No. 1, being an amendment to the title of the Bill, will be taken last. Accordingly, we shall now take amendment No. 2.
