Vol. 17 No. 28

Adjournment Debate.

Pursuant to Standing Order 25, I request leave to move the adjournment of the Seanad for the purpose of discussing a definite matter of urgent public importance, namely, the Order dated the 8th December, 1933, made by the Executive Council under Section 19 of Article 2a of the Constitution, entitled the Constitution (Declaration of Unlawful Association) (No. 2) Order, 1933, whereby it is declared that the Young Ireland Association is, in the opinion of the Executive Council, an unlawful association.

Cathaoirleach

Senators who support this request will kindly rise in their places.

Five Senators having risen accordingly:

Cathaoirleach

I give leave to move the motion and fix 6 o'clock this evening as the hour at which it shall be moved: provided that, if when that hour is reached there is business still undisposed of which can, in my opinion, be finished within a reasonably short time, I shall exercise my discretion and allow such business, or part thereof, to be taken before the motion is moved.
