Vol. 18 No. 1

Slaughter of Animals Bill, 1933. - Horse Breeding Bill, 1933—Report Stage.

Cathaoirleach

In regard to the Horse Breeding Bill, 1933, which appears on to-day's Order Paper for the Report Stage, it was represented to me that there were still some outstanding points of difference between the Minister and certain Senators representative of the horse breeding industry in respect to the amendments which appear on the Paper; and that agreement might possibly be reached if more time were allowed for private discussion. I accordingly got in touch with the Minister and with the Senators concerned and I desire to announce to the House on behalf of the Minister, who cannot be present here at the moment, that he would like the Report Stage to be postponed. If this suggestion is agreed to by the House, I think the best course would be for Senators to leave it to me to fix the date for the Report Stage, due notice being given in the ordinary way. Does the House agree?

Agreed.
