Vol. 20 No. 26

Death of his Majesty King George V.—Expression of Sympathy.

I move that Seanad Eireann expresses its deep sympathy with his Majesty King Edward VIII, with her Majesty Queen Mary and the Royal Family and with the people of Great Britain on the death of his late Majesty King George V.

Before you put that to the House, at the risk of being classified as ungracious, ungenerous and bitter, and all the other adjectives which may be hurled at me, I wish to be regarded as dissenting from this motion.

Motion declared passed, all the members present, with the exception of Senator Mrs. Clarke, rising in their places.
