Seanad Éireann debate -
Thursday, 13 Jul 1939

Vol. 23 No. 5

Order of Business.

Arising out of the decision taken by the Seanad last night to have the Land Bill placed first on the Order Paper for to-day, certain re-arrangement of the business as set forth becomes necessary. The Minister for Agriculture has asked, in the circumstances, that the Agricultural Produce (Cereals) Bill (Item No. 2) be postponed until Tuesday next, and, in order that the Minister for Lands should have an opportunity to have tea, I have arranged with the Minister for Defence and the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Local Government and Public Health that the Air Raid Precautions Bill and the Public Assistance Bill should be taken between 6.30 and 8 o'clock. If these Bills are not concluded by 8 o'clock, the debate on the Second Stage of the Land Bill will be resumed at that hour. I think this re-arrangement will meet with general convenience.
