That Seanad Eireann hereby approves of Control of Imports (Quota No. 13) (Amendment) Order, 1940.
Public Business. - Control of Imports (Quota No. 13) (Amendment) Order, 1940—Motion.
Under Quota Order No. 13, cloths which do not exceed 2/- per square yard in value are exempt from quota restrictions. The motion which is now before the House proposes to raise the exemption level from 2/- to 3/6 per square yard so that cloths which do not exceed 3/6 per square yard can come in without quota restriction.
I may say that I know something about this matter, and this is a motion which is absolutely necessary.
