Vol. 27 No. 6

Order of Business.

In connection with the business on the Order Paper to-day it has been arranged, I understand, that if the Intoxicating Liquor Bill, item No. 4 on the Order Paper, is not reached before the adjournment for tea this evening, it should be postponed until to-morrow and be taken then as first business. Accordingly, if the first three items on the Order Paper occupy a period longer than three hours this evening, on the conclusion of item No. 3, i.e., Exported Live Stock (Insurance) Bill, it has been suggested that we should take up consideration of Senator Counihan's motion—item No. 7—proposing the annulment of certain statutory orders regarding which, I understand, there is a certain urgency. On the completion of that business it is proposed to resume the debate on Senator Johnston's motion—item No. 6. The debate on the motion in the names of Senators Douglas and Hayes will not be resumed this week and will be postponed until the House next meets. Ministers concerned in the business have been notified of the alterations in the programme for this week.

I presume I may assume agreement to the changes suggested.

Agreed.
