Seanad Éireann debate -
Wednesday, 13 Jan 1943

Vol. 27 No. 6

Order of Business.

Is it proposed that the House should sit next week?

That can be decided to-morrow when we see what progress we have made.

I understand it has been suggested that we should not meet next week, and in view of that there is one urgent matter I want to refer to. I have consulted Senator Counihan with regard to the Exported Live Stock (Insurance) Bill, and he assures me that in his opinion this is a measure that ought to be passed not later than next week. There is the question of insurance of cattle crossing the Border to be dealt with under it. A lot of people in the cattle trade are anxious to get that measure through as soon as possible.

That would be a matter, I suggest, for arrangement outside the House. The House now stands adjourned until 3 o'clock to-morrow when the first business will be the Intoxicating Liquor Bill.

The Seanad adjourned at 9.10 p.m. until 3 p.m. on Thursday 14th January, 1943.
