Seanad Éireann debate -
Wednesday, 7 Mar 1945

Vol. 29 No. 17

Business of Seanad.

The following motion was on the Order Paper:—
That the Seanad requests the Minister for Local Government and Public Health to take the necessary steps to provide that officers of local authorities, whose salaries are subject to cost-of-living bonus, shall receive a bonus equivalent to that being paid for the time being to civil servants.—(Senator Patrick J. O'Reilly.)

I observe that according to the Dáil Order Paper for to-day the Minister for Local Government and Public Health is to move the First Stage of the Local Authorities (Cost of Living) (Amendment) Bill. In these circumstances it does not appear necessary to move the motion relating to this subject which stands in my name on the Seanad Order Paper. I therefore formally give notice that it is not my intention to move the motion.

An Leas-Chathaoirleach

The motion will accordingly be taken off the Paper.

The Seanad adjourned at 9 p.m. until 3 p.m. on Thursday, 8th March, 1945.
