Seanad Éireann debate -

Vol. 33 No. 5

Business of Seanad.

An Leas-Chathaoirleach

What is the intention with regard to item No. 2, the motion in the name of Senator Duffy?

I do not know whether it is convenient for the Seanad to discuss the motion this evening. It has been represented to me by Senators that the meeting this afternoon was specially convened to consider the Bill which we have now disposed of and that Senators, therefore, were not prepared to discuss the motion. If that is so, I do not wish to go on with the motion: but I should like to get some assurance that it will be taken at an early date, perhaps when we meet next.

Mr. Hawkins

In view of the fact that the agreement at the last meeting of the Seanad was that we should meet to-day to give special consideration to the Bill which has just been passed, I suggest that the motion be postponed until the next meeting of the Seanad.

Agreed.

An Leas-Chathaoirleach

I wish Senators a happy Christmas and a prosperous new year.

The Seanad adjourned at 5.15 p.m. until 3 p.m. on Wednesday, 15th January, 1947.
