Vol. 33 No. 8

Business of Seanad.

An Leas-Chathaoirleach

I understand that the enactment of the Flax Act, 1936 (Suspension) Bill, 1947, which will be received from the Dáil tomorrow, is a matter of urgency and that it is necessary that the Bill be law by the 31st of January. In these circumstances, the Cathaoirleach will have to ask the House to meet next week, although there will not probably be a full day's work. He asks me to say also that in view of the restricted travelling facilities he has consulted both sides of the House as to the most suitable day of meeting next week, and he understands that Wednesday is most convenient. I presume there is agreement on that.

Agreed.

The Seanad adjourned at 10.5 p.m. until 3 p.m. on Wednesday, 29th January, 1947.
