Vol. 48 No. 14

Business of Seanad.

May I ask whether we could get agreement on the time for adjournment in order to finish the Second Stage of the Bill to-night, and as to what time it is likely the Taoiseach will be in a position to reply?

What time does the Senator suggest?

If it would convenience the House and if we could get agreement, I would suggest 10.30 p.m.

I am afraid you would have to make it 11 p.m. in order to get this Bill finished, unless the Taoiseach——

Any time you want— midnight, if you like.

We want to try to finish the Second Stage now, although, on account of the nature of Section 4, I imagine everything will be discussed on the Committee Stage. Perhaps Senator Ó Maoláin would indicate the date of the Committee Stage?

I had in mind January 29th.

In view of what Senator Hayes has said, that a good deal of what Senators will have to say will be on Section 4 on Committee Stage, it seems hardly fair to ask the Taoiseach to remain until 11 p.m.

Do not think of me in the matter.

The Taoiseach is used to the Second Stage. It may be repeated on Committee Stage.

Agreed to sit until 11 p.m.
