Vol. 53 No. 11

Business of Seanad.

Before the Minister leaves the House, could I be given this information: has the Committee on Procedure and Privileges been called to consider my motion, No. 5?

And when can we expect it will be called?

Perhaps the Senator would have a word with the Leader of the House.

I asked to have this motion taken on two previous occasions and I was not told then that it was to go to the Committee on Procedure and Privileges. I think it is a delaying action that we should find only today that it is to go before this Committee. Since the Minister is in the House, he could very easily hear the case that is being put up as he has refused to hear the public representatives who have on various occasions requested a meeting with him. This would be a very opportune time to discuss the matter.

The business has been ordered, Nos. 1 and 4, for to-day.

I protest against this. Maybe they are afraid to hear the case for the motion.
