Vol. 65 No. 3

Death of Senator Robert Kennedy: Expression of Sympathy.

The House will be saddened to learn of the death of Senator Robert Kennedy. It is a sad duty for me on behalf of the Members of all Parties here to propose as a mark of respect to his memory, to his family and to the connection they have with this country, that we adjourn for an hour as a tribute to him.

We are all extremely sad to hear of the untimely death of Senator Robert Kennedy which comes as a great shock to all of us who have been watching his progress for the last 24 hours. I would ask you, a Chathaoirleach, to convey to his family the sympathy of the House.

I wish to associate the universities with the tribute to the memory of Senator Kennedy and ask that our sympathy be conveyed to his family.

The Chair will arrange to have the sympathy of the House conveyed to the widow and family of Senator Kennedy.

Members rose in their places.

Business suspended from 10.45 a.m. to 11.45 a.m.
