Seanad Éireann debate -
Thursday, 11 Nov 1971

Vol. 71 No. 11

Business of Seanad.

Could I ask the Leader of the House, while the Minister is still here, whether it is likely that either on Wednesday if the Committee Stage finishes early enough, or otherwise on Thursday, the two motions on the Order Paper which concern the Minister might be taken? They are Nos. 15 and 16, concerning the National Library and the National Museum. Can it be foreseen at this stage?

It all depends on the time left.

Supposing the Committee Stage takes the whole of Wednesday, which is perfectly possible, might we anticipate that these motions would be taken on the Thursday morning?

Are we departing from the agreement reached on taking motions each month?

If the Senator were here yesterday and listened to the announcement of business he would know the answer to that question. He just comes and goes when it suits him.

Might I object to the statement? I was here all day yesterday, for much longer than the Senator was.

I would have to check that.

The Seanad adjourned at 12.15 p.m. until 3 p.m. on Wednesday, 17th November, 1971.
