Vol. 77 No. 10

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take Nos. 1 and 2 and to adjourn at 5 o'clock. As regards No. 2 there was an indication given to me yesterday evening that possibly the sponsors of the motion might prefer not to have it ordered for today. I am ordering it because we had undertaken to try to do it. If anyone wants to propose that it be dropped I will not resist the suggestion.

As regards lunch adjournment I suggest that the Whips might meet at about 12.30 and see how the debate is running. Assuming the debate is running normally it is proposed that we should adjourn at 5 o'clock.

Regarding the motion in my name and in the name of Senator Lenihan, the Leader of the House has said that it will be dropped. Does he mean it will be dropped for all time or that it will be taken again?

What I mean is dropped from today's Order Paper.

It still stands to be taken another day?

It will still stand on the Order Paper.

Because of the late sitting last night, the staff and the fact that it is Holy Thursday I will withdraw the motion with the consent of the Leader of the House.

Is the House agreeable then, to take No. 1 and to adjourn not later than 5 p.m.?

Agreed.
