Seanad Éireann debate -
Wednesday, 24 Mar 1976

Vol. 83 No. 15

Business of Seanad.

It is proposed tomorrow to take the Family Law (Maintenance of Spouses and Children) Bill, Report and Final Stages, then the Social Welfare Bill, which passed through the other House today, and after that continue with the Committee Stage of this Bill.

Is it proposed to finish Committee Stage tomorrow?

I hope so.

Will we sit as long as may be necessary to do so?

Would that suit the Minister?

I think so, yes.

Then there is the Capital Acquisitions Bill which we had intended dealing with today. When shall we take that?

Probably next week. It is intended to take on Wednesday next the EEC Motion which the Minister for Foreign Affairs indicated his willingness to take. However, we shall have to sit at 10.30 a.m. on that morning to enable him to give the House the time which they would like to allow to it. He will be flying out to Luxembourg that evening. We also hope to take on Wednesday next the Health Contributions Bill which has been discussed in the other House. After that, the Capital Gains Tax Bill, I suppose.

The Seanad adjourned at 8.35 p.m. until 10.30 a.m. on Thursday, 25th March, 1976.
