Seanad Éireann debate -
Wednesday, 6 Jul 1983

Vol. 101 No. 6

Business of Seanad.

Will the Leader of the House indicate the procedure?

We have two motions which have been sent to us from the Dáil. It is necessary for us to pass these motions before Dáil Éireann can proceed to make a substantive motion in regard to the establishment of these two committees. I suggest to the House that we might perhaps debate the two committees together. The subject matters are cognate and a single debate would be adequate.

Is it proposed to take any other business?

My expectation is that this debate will last for the remainder of the evening. If there is so great a degree of agreement that it is disposed of quickly, it is intended to resume the Criminal Justice (Community Service) Bill.
