At the commencement of business there was a request that additional time might be given to item No. 3 because of the interest expressed by Senators in the debate and some Members were concerned that they might not get an opportunity to speak. There have been consultations during the afternoon and my proposal to the House is that this item be debated from 7.30 to 8.30 tonight and that it be taken from 7 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. next Wednesday and then concluded. This means that the time of the debate will be extended from three hours to four hours, providing an additional hour to the time stated in the Standing Order.
